Something Borrowed

Our Musicians - Graham Sims

Graham started playing the guitar at the age of 18. Six months latter the band he had formed reached the semi-finals of a U.K. Battle of the Bands competition held at the Oval Rockhouse Norwich. Amazingly he and the rest of the band weren't allowed to participate: the boarding school they were at wouldn't allow it as they had A-level exams the next day. Having found playing guitar beats working for a living, Graham took a year out after A-levels to study classical guitar. He progressed at an astonishing rate securing a place to study with Tom Kerstens at Bath Spa University, culminating in a first class degree and a prestigious scholarship to study at the Bath International Guitar Festival. The Guitar Festival has invited him back to perform on two occasions. He has performed throughout the UK and Europe, including radio appearances on BBC Radio Bristol and Bath FM. In July 2004 Graham recorded a track for a compilation CD for the BGS record label. Most recently he has finished his debut album, soon to be released on Greyhound Records.
